NYC Childcare Share

We parent alone. We raise our children alone. That is exhausting.
In traditional societies, people co-sleep, breastfeed much longer, and wear their babies all the time. The village raises the child. There are grandparents, aunts, neighbors, and older children to share the parenting. However, a city culture does not grant moms the same luxuries of child-rearing that can be found in other countries. A babysitting coop is about turning neighbors into family and creating a village even if we were not given one! Anyone who is willing, can practice a childcare share. The economic and social benefit of being part of a babysitting coop is invaluable and so we encourage you to join our village!

Must live in one of the five boroughs of NYC (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx)

Must have a willingness to watch other families kids in exchange for having other families watch yours

No criminal records (a background check is run on all applicants) to ensure the safety of all fmailies
